1st Gear review of Floyd Rose guitars...
Once in a while, I’m going to take some time out to review a variety of gear. I think it’s important to see and hear what’s new in the equipment world and more importantly . . . I get to try out some cool stuff. . .
When I was about 15 years old my parents gave me my first guitar. When I took it out of the case the rush that took place is too awesome to describe. The weight, the color, the feel was just right . . . I experienced a sense of freedom . . . I was free to express myself . . . my thoughts . . . my music . . .
Well, I just tested a Floyd Rose guitar for and experienced the same rush as I did when I was just a lil’ boy. . .
Floyd Rose has been around for quite some time, manufacturing a solid Tremelo system. I’ve heard players in Nashville say that they just don’t like Floyd Rose . . . many are Bigsby fans but I don’t think they’ve really done their homework. . . and these players are talking ‘tremelo’ not guitars.
I’m talking about guitars . . . honestly, I’d put this instrument up against anything that’s out there.
It’s fast . . . the action is great . . . the playability, custom humbuckers and overall quality is found in guitars that list for twice as much as ‘The Rose’ I tested. They’re designed in the USA by musicians for musicians.
If you can find a place in the area to purchase a ‘Rose’ buy it . . .
